It’s official: the Riddes – La Tzoumaz road will reopen on 7 June 2024!
The Canton confirmed this morning that the rehabilitation work on the Becque road and tunnel had been completed. The road will therefore reopen to traffic on 7 June 2024.
The deadline was shortened thanks in particular to the hard work of the workers. They worked in two shifts (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm) for several weeks. The hazards of the weather and geology were also kept under control.
Back to normal
As announced by the Canton, standard public transport timetables will be restored from 13 June 2024:
– The timetable for bus route 392 will return to normal, in line with the basic service put in place at the time of the December 2023 timetable change.
This return to normal also implies the end of free public transport from 8 June 2024.
The Commune of Riddes and the Tourist Office salute the efforts made by the Canton and the companies working on the site, as well as the resilience and patience shown by all the residents and workers in the region.
